DOB: 18 May 1971
Birthplace: Hiroshima, Japan

The most senior in the PETRONAS Syntium Team, Nobuteru (No One Better) Taniguchi is also arguably the most experienced of the lot and has been with the team since 2008. No stranger to endurance racing, Taniguchi's expertise stretches from experience gained in racing in Super Taikyu, the Malaysia Millennium Endurance Race (MMER), Tokachi 24 Hours and Nürburgring 24 Hours. Beyond circuit racing, Taniguchi is also a drifting king, having won the inaugural D1 Grand Prix in 2001.

With his friendly and approachable disposition, Taniguchi has a legion of fans that follow his progress in every championship he participates in. His resume speaks for itself as this native of Hiroshima has chalked up a catalogue of impressive results in a variety of race series, from D1GP to Super Taikyu and Super GT300.

2011 was a truly remarkable year for Taniguchi as he scored a hat trick and won the overall title for three championships - Super Taikyu, Super GT300 and the Honda Exciting Cup One-Make Race Civic Series. For 2012, Taniguchi is back at the wheel of the PETRONAS Syntium Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3, the same car he drove to victory at its debut race in last year's MMER, for Super Taikyu. He will also be partnering Tatsuya Kataoka for Super GT300 and will be making a comeback in D1GP.
