Ryan Ritchie

Name: Ryan Ritchie
DOB: 27 February 1993
Nationality: Malaysian
Birthplace: Malaysia
Residence: Malaysia

With a father actively racing cars in rallies and endurance races, it is not surprising that Ryan Ritchie was exposed to motorsports at a young age. He was only 10 years old when his dad took him to try fun karting at an extreme park.

Ryan started racing in go-karts in 2003 – the same year he tried karting – and achieved podium finishes from the beginning. He continued karting to high levels and represented Malaysia twice at the Rotax Max World Finals in 2007 and 2008. His performance in karting was spotted and Ryan was selected for the PETRONAS Formula Xperience(PFX) motorsports programme in 2009. That marked his foray into single-seaters and he went on to do a full season of the Formula BMW Pacific in 2010.

Moving on to GT cars, Ryan spent a year training with the PETRONAS Syntium Team and 2012 is his rookie season in Super Taikyu with the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3.
